If you are an automatic delivery customer, Mercer Fuels schedules your deliveries for you. Automatic oil customers are guaranteed never to run out of oil. That guarantee applies only to automatic delivery.
If your gauge looks low, reads E, or you are not sure what it is showing, call the office. Do not count on oil left below E as a reserve, and do not try to estimate how many days you have left.
A gauge is an estimate, not an exact measurement or a safe waiting period. There is no universal ordering level for every home. Tell the office what you read and when, including any uncertainty.
Call 902-539-4242. Our local staff answer the phones 24/7, but we cannot guarantee an emergency delivery. Timing depends on availability, routes and weather.
Cold spells can increase heating oil use, and severe weather can affect delivery routes. Call-in customers should review their supply before severe weather rather than wait for an urgent need.
If your hot water is heated by oil, you still use oil in summer. Call-in customers need to keep monitoring their supply even when space heating is off.
Call the office to confirm your delivery and account arrangements. Do not assume a previous owner's or tenant's arrangements transfer to you. Share your address, moving date and any tank information you have. If the oil level is low or unknown, say so when you call instead of waiting to establish a usage pattern.
